The Adventure Continues

We have now recorded all the main parts, there’s a couple of fx heavy voices to do but pretty much all the dialogue has been done. There are some excellent performances by all of our cast, and the new members are welcome additions.
We will get it ready for Christmas? Who knows? There’s a lot of work ahead but we’ll do our best.

Episodes 7-12
October 4th, 2009We did the bulk of the recording for episodes 7-12 today, we need to arrange for some of the actors who couldn’t make it today to turn up to the recording suite (Chris’s back room) and get the rest of the dialogue down.
Then comes the long hard slog of editing it together and adding all the fx / background noise.
We found last series that having appropriate background sound greatly increases the quality of the end product.
Here’s hoping we can get it finished this year!

Series 2 Progresses
September 29th, 2009Sunday 4th October will be our main recording day for series 2 (or episodes 7-12). There’ll be a few catchup days after this, then we have the long arduous task of editing and adding the fx, but with any luck we’ll be able to have something ready for December (if not before).
We’ll be using Cakewalk Sonar 8.5 for most things this time round (last time we had a mixture of three different applications) which should hopefully we don’t lose any quality in the recording process.

It’s A Wrap! Simon & Wayne’s Spiffing Movie Review
September 25th, 2009Simon Jones (who you may recall as the “radio announcer”) and myself have launched another podcast venture – “It’s A Wrap! Simon & Wayne’s Spiffing Movie Review”.
We’re currently up to episode 5 and have pretty much sorted out what we’re doing – looking at some random trailers, dishing out some movie news and reviewing a recent film (so far we’ve done Drag Me To Hell, Transformers 2, Moon, District 9 and Gamer).

Casting Call
August 26th, 2009September is nearly upon us, and that means the recording of Jack Steel Series 2 is almost here. Of course, it almost goes without saying that this second exciting installment of the Starblade adventures features a host of new characters, for whom we are currently seeking “vocal talent”. So if you’d like to be considered drop us a line at jack.steel@itsatrap.co.uk – no need to worry if you live out of town, if you can make it to Norwich for a weekend we can make use of you!

Series 2 update
July 27th, 2009Hello Loyal fans,
Due to this being a very busy summer for a lot of the crew involved in Jack Steel (what with LARP, movies, Edinburgh Shows etc) we will be recording series 2 in September.
Hopefully our experiences from last year will allow us to turn round the recordings to finished episodes much quicker, so we’re probably looking at a mid October release date for series 2.

Series 2 (or episodes 7-12 if you prefer)
May 27th, 2009Tonight is the night when the scripts for series 2 get their first read through. Â This really is the kick off point for series 2. Â I suspect we’ll be doing the bulk of the recording in late June / early july, and given our experiences last year we’ll hopefully be a lot more streamlined and practiced with editing and adding effects.
